We’re so excited to announce a NEW interactive program for children and their parents to learn about vegetables that we can grow in the garden. A hands-on approach incorporating songs, crafts, stories, recipes, taste testing and of course, planting in the garden. Children will have their own garden space where they can watch their plants transform from seed to vegetables! This 6-week program for children (ages 2-4) and their parent will run every Thursday (10am-11:30am) from May 25th-June 29th. $60 per child for the 6 week session. Day 2: Lettuce and Swiss Chard
Leafy greens can come in an array of bright colours. Leaves of all kinds (whether on a plant or in a salad bowl) are made of 80-90% water! The program today focuses on lettuce and swiss chard. We’ll discover how plants absorb water, read a story about lettuce, plant seeds in the garden and taste test some of the yummy vegetables we’re planting!
