Description

Join us as we explore Abbey Gardens’ bee yard, gardens and natural areas with Pauline Plooard, Master Gardener, Naturalist and Bee Keeper.  We will learn that those that “buzz” are not all bees and there is a difference between native bees and honey bees.  Pauline will share her expertise on garden design for pollinators and their importance.  Come and hear all about bees, their important role as pollinators and learn about the plants and flowers they enjoy

This walk is led by Pauline Plooard who is a member of the Haliburton Highlands Field Naturalists, a Master Gardener, and was a beekeeper for over 30 years.  She is, and has also been interested in all aspects of the outdoors; whether it is the rocks, the flora or fauna, the sky, or underwater species.
